Briefing Guidelines

From UO Community Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

These are the briefing guidelines for all ArmA 3 missions approved for upload on or after January 10, 2014. All missions uploaded to the Primary after the aforementioned date shall adhere to these guidelines. Failure to do so will result in removal of the mission from the UO servers.

Please ensure you attach your briefing.sqf with the mission list submission, or it will be rejected.

Guidelines

Bold items shall be provided by the mission maker’s briefing.

Italicized items are optional, and may be included at the mission maker’s discretion.

Items not shown in bold should be provided by the commander at mission briefing, and the mission maker shall ensure that the commander is able to provide that information to the players given the map and briefing text information provided. They may be marked with ‘Mission commander’s discretion’ or similar notation by the mission maker.

Appendices, additional information, fluff, background, etc., if formatted appropriately, may be added at the mission maker’s prerogative.

All items, regardless of content or format, shall be stated clearly.

The formatting below shall be the baseline standard for conventional forces. All points contained within and marked as required shall be addressed.

Non-conventional (that is, insurgent) forces need not be formatted entirely as below. However, they must contain a coherent, easily understood Situation, Mission, and Execution. Signals/Frequencies, if radios are present, shall be organized in chart form as per conventional forces, for the purposes of clarity.

It is encouraged to use the provided template for conventional forces, though changes may be made for different force briefing structures.
